BOOK HUNT

I decided to make the most of the uni library today and found some little gems that are worth having a look at.

This is a cute little book called 'Eat Me: Appetite for Design' all about product, packaging, branding, art and interiors. There is some great imagery and it's nicely laid out with stylish graphics. The cheeky bite mark at the corner adds that extra touch of fun.

And a selection of design and fashion books with some pretty pictures and sketches, including, Vogue the Covers, Decorative Arts and Design and Karim Rashid's 'Karim'.

A TIMELESS CLASSIC

I often find inspiration for my designs by looking at fashion and the reasons why people wear what they do. I came across an article about Chanel's timeless classic - the black jacket. The idea that one single style can be used over and over again by modifying it and adapting it, depending on trends at that particular time, closely relates to interior design and is often a useful idea to utilise.

Chanel is one of my favourite fashion designers and Karl Lagerfeld has put together the collection of poster sized-photos for a small gallery show in Soho, NYC which ran from 8th-15th June 2012.

You can explore the exhibition interactively online here.

TOPSHOP, LONDON

Just a few snaps I took inside the Oxford Circus Topshop, highlighting my favourite features.

ORIENTAL GLITZ

Eastern styles are beginning to influence fashion and are becoming a new trend for summer.
Oriental glamour adds edginess to our contrasting British fashion with the use of bright colours, pretty patterns and styles.
